Hospital

Last year we upgraded part of our main rest home to enable us to provide Level 5 - Hospital Care ( Continuing Care). Our Hospital area ( Tui House) currently consists of 22 large individual rooms, 14 with private ensuites, small kitchenette and ranchsliders out to the lawns and gardens. State of the art- Romedic ceiling hoist systems have been installed into 12 of these rooms to allow for quiet, safe and easy transfer of residents from one place to another. A separate lounge and dining area is also provided - which has been fitted out with the latest furniture and equipment to best suit the higher care and pressure needs of our residents. All residents are encouraged to socialise and take part in the daily activities and exercise programs and are also supported to partake in our wonderful home cooked meals together in the dining room where possible. In line with our committment to the Eden philosophy; animals, plants, music, art, community and family input, are all intergrated into the daily lives of residents living in Tui House.

The second stage of the hospital redevelopment will include the addition of four large double rooms with ensuites ( to cater for husbands and wives or people who prefer not to be on their own) and will also include a large lounge/conservatory overlooking the main gardens. This is due to commence late 2011- early 2012.

We currently have a full spectrum of professional and clinical support staff on board- with eight registered and two enrolled nurses on our team, as well as a full time Physiotherapist and Clinical Services Manager. We also have a Diversional Therapist and three activities staff and, have the services of a Inhouse GP and Nurse Practitioner.  We can also utilise the services of a Dietician, Occupational Therapist, Palliative Nurse Specialist and other Nurse Specialists when required. This team is largely supported by our wonderful team of qualified, experienced, and dedicated care staff- who live , laugh with and care for our residents on a daily basis.
